Women Issues Should be Given a National Priority- CEO of Ideapath Consult Admonishes!

The Chief Executive Officer of Ideapath Consult Tahiru Lukman have charge duty bearers to give a critical attention to women issues in Ghana. He made this called in a post issued to celebrate women as the world Mark international women day.

Post read: ‘‘Women play a crucial role in keeping the household safe, ensuring children’s welfare and advancing the course of community and national development. We must address women issues as a national priority’’

Speaking to Bawkuonline.com the Youth Activist and Development Consult who gives attention to women issues bemoaned the ill political attitudes towards the affirmative action bills and discrimination women in Ghana continue to suffer. She further appealed that some carrier women and women in political conducts and social life-style is defeating the work of advocate as their behaviour re-enforces stereotyping.

To Tahiru Lukman, issues of gender equality and equity should not be seen as only women struggle, rather a collective action. Cultural orientations, religious values and ethnic beliefs must be integrated to sharpen a positive call for actions. A universal approach to gender issues will crumble our struggle and for that matter emphasis must be placed on our positive practices to build a society where women and men, girls and boys are treated with dignity, respect and honour.
