U/W: Heavy Downpour; One Dead in Wa

The Upper West Region has had its second rainfall predicted by the Ghana Meteorological agency lately. The rain came with lot of wind without thunder storms but ripped off some zincs and flooded some houses close to low lands.

The rain started late hours of Saturday 20th March 2021 and as a result has flooded some number of rooms at the Kambali stretch of the Municipality.

The Rains have also claimed a life in Mangu close to Maxixco gardens in Wa.

According an eyewitness by name Hakim at the drinking pub, the deceased identified as Rahman sat close to the brigde full of Water, intoxicated, All others were running for cover whilst he sat aloof, this resulted in strong over flow of water carrying him under the bridge close to Maxixco gardens in Mangu, a suburb of Wa.

He has since been buried as per Islamic teachings and with the covid-19 protocols observed in the Upper West Region.

The Police service has since taken record of the development.
