According to bawkuonline.com sources, an Italian resident who made a trip to Lagos, Nigeria’s monetary operational hub, is the main affirmed instance of coronavirus in sub Saharan Africa, as per the nation’s Health Ministry.
The man works in Nigeria and had come back from Milan to Lagos on 25th February.
The ministry said in a statement that: “The patient is clinically stable, with no serious symptoms, and is being managed at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba, Lagos.”
“We have already started working to identify all the contacts of the patient, since he entered Nigeria. Citizens should not panic.
“Citizens must not also abuse social media and indulge in spreading misinformation that causes fear and panic.”
“Nigeria’s government has been strengthening measures to ensure an outbreak in Nigeria is controlled and contained quickly.”
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday, urges Africa to prepare for the novel coronavirus when a case was confirmed in Algeria.
