In an interview on Citi News, his wife revealed that they heard him shouting in the middle of the night and they found him unconscious when they attended to him.
“In the early hours of Saturday, we heard a loud noise in the house. I thought my husband was driving away goats from the house at the time. Little did I know that he was being attacked. We saw him in a pool of blood. The people bolted as soon as we opened the door to check what was happening.”
They rushed him to Ejura Sekyeredumase District Hospital but he was later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital when his situation got worse.
Unfortunately he passed on Monday, June 28th 2021.
In the interview, Ibrahim Mohammed’s wife, Madam Zahadu disclosed that she warned him to quit his social media political activism after he received some threats from some unknown persons.
According to her, she has always advised him to put a stop to it but he never listened.
“Before the attack, he told me that someone had warned him against posting some issues on social media. I even warned him to stop since that could lead to his death but he wouldn’t listen. I know the person that issued the warning to my husband. We want the police to thoroughly conduct investigations into it to ensure the perpetrators are arrested,”
Two Suspects Arrested?
Police in the Ashanti Region have rounded up two suspects in connection with his death.
The social media activist did not survive a mob attack on Friday, June 25 after sustaining head wounds.
On Tuesday, June 29, the Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, said two persons have been arrested.
“The suspects are Ibrahim Issaka alias Anyars and Fuseini Alhassan, currently in custody.
“Both were arrested at about 10:45pm on Monday 28 June 2021 following police intelligence.”
He (Kaaka) has been seen as a strong activist of the Economic Fighters League founded by Ernesto Yeboah but recently joined in the #FixTheCountry social media campaign, positing videos and images of stalled and abandoned government projects in the Ejura Sekyeredumase District.
“Police investigations will also extend to rumours that the deceased was a journalist and a member of the #FixTheCountry movement to ascertain if the murder was linked to his work or the movement,” ASP Ahianyo said on Tuesday.
He appealed for “relevant” information from the public to aid investigations.
Already, relatives of the deceased are demanding justice to prevent any reprisal attacks from youth of Dagombaline, where the deceased was resident.
