Ghana @63: Former President Mahama Boycott Independence day Event

Today marked 63 years since the republic of Ghana gained independence from the British.

The event successfully took place at Kumasi, marked on the theme: ‘Consolidating Our Gains’

Per the report reaching bawkuonline.com, both former president Jerry John Rawlings and John Dramani Mahama did not attend the event.

In participation was His Royal Mejesty, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The event had only few of the members of the opposition in attendance.

And most of the Minority Members of Parliament were absent too.

Trinidad & Tobago Prime Minister Dr Keith Christopher Rowley was the Guest of Honour.

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor was present.

It was unclear whether the National Democratic Congress (NDC) intentionally boycotted the event.
