Former captain of the Ghana Black stars Asamoh Gyan says people of the Weija-Gbawe are calling on him to lead them as an MP for their constituency but he has no interest in politics for now.
As indicated by the 34-year-old, who is the untouched driving goalscorer of Ghana with 51 objectives, he thinks anything can occur later on.
Asamoah Gyan popularly known as baby Jet who happens to be a close friend to the president of the Republic of Ghana, was seen in Parliament in February this year during the State of the Nation Address.
In an interview on Adom Fm, he said: “I’m happy that people are grateful for what I have done. I said earlier that people want me to become their MP. The most important thing is that people are happy with what I have done”.
“Talking about politics anything can happen, but for now politics is not on my mind”.
“Sometimes the people choose you, people can choose you to lead them. When the roads were going on plus other projects, many people were urging me to lead them as their MP.”
“Some people did not plan to do politics but at the end of the day they are doing politics which is a normal thing.”
