Akufo-Addo Halts Security Recruitment Amid Lack Of Funds

The Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed for security recruitment process at the various state security institutions to be suspended until further notice.

The Finance Ministry in a communiqué sighted by Educationweb.com.gh said the security recruitment halt is because there will be no money for logistics and salaries for the recruits if they were to complete their training.

The affected security agencies under the auspices of the Government of Ghana (GoG) are Custom Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS), Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), Ghana Police Service, and Ghana Fire Service.

The only security service that is exempted is the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), formally the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) which has its funding from Switzerland.
